Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Binaryscript Private Limited ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") concerning your access to and use of the PhotoMeta mobile application for Android and iOS (the "App").
BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, SIGNING IN TO OR USING THE APP, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE APP.
1. Eligibility
1.1 Age
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live (18 in India), you may use the App, and make purchases in it, only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
1.2 Legal Capacity
By using the App you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement, or that a parent or guardian has accepted it for you.
1.3 Compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable local, national and international laws in your use of the App, including copyright, privacy and consumer protection law.
2. Licence to Use the App
2.1 Grant of Licence
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use.
2.2 Restrictions
You agree NOT to:
- Modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works of the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law
- Remove, alter or obscure any copyright, trademark or proprietary notice in the App
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, resell or otherwise transfer the App or access to it to any third party
- Use the App to provide a metadata-removal service to others as if it were your own product
- Circumvent, disable or interfere with the free-use limit, the paywall, the subscription checks, or any other security or access-control feature
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorised purpose
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable or impair it, or interfere with any other user's use of it
2.3 Ownership
The App and all intellectual property rights in it remain the exclusive property of Binaryscript Private Limited. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks, service marks or logos.
3. Accounts and Sign-In
3.1 No Account Needed
You can use the App without an account. On Android in India, you are asked to sign in with Google only when you buy premium, so that your purchase is tied to your account and can follow you to another phone. On Android outside India, and on iOS in every country, there is no sign-in: purchases are tied to your Google Play or App Store account.
3.2 Your Responsibility
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials and your phone secure, and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately at support@binaryscript.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
3.3 One Account, One Entitlement
A purchase is tied to the account or store account that bought it. Sharing an account so that several people use a single subscription is a breach of these Terms, except where the store's own family-sharing feature allows it.
3.4 Suspension
We may suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, is abusing the subscription system, or is in breach of these Terms.
4. The App and Its Content
4.1 What The App Does
The App is a photo metadata viewer and cleaner. For JPEG, PNG and WebP photos you choose, it shows the metadata stored in the file — EXIF data, GPS location, XMP, IPTC and C2PA / Content Credentials — and saves a new copy without that metadata to your photo gallery. Your original photo is never modified.
4.2 On Your Phone
Photos are read and cleaned on your own phone and are never uploaded to us. The App keeps no history of the photos you open or clean. Network features — analytics, crash reporting, sign-in, subscription checks and payments — are described in the Privacy Policy.
4.3 Changes To The App
We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we may discontinue the App entirely. We are not liable to you for any such change, though we will not remove a feature you paid for without a reasonable alternative or notice.
4.4 No Warranty Of Availability
The App runs locally on your phone, but sign-in, subscription checks and payments depend on our servers and on third parties. We do not guarantee that the App will run on every phone, open every photo, or work without interruption or error.
5. Metadata Removal — Read This
Photo files differ widely, and metadata can be stored in places, formats or vendor-specific fields that the App does not recognise or cannot safely remove. Where the App cannot clean a photo safely, it tells you and leaves the photo unchanged. But we do not guarantee that a clean copy contains no identifying information. In particular:
- Information that is visible in the picture itself — faces, street signs, landmarks, documents, screens, reflections — is not metadata, and the App does not remove it
- A website, app or service you upload a photo to may add its own metadata, or keep information about the upload, which the App cannot control
- Copies of the original photo — in your gallery, a cloud backup, or anywhere you sent it before — still contain the original metadata
IF YOUR SAFETY OR PRIVACY DEPENDS ON A PHOTO CONTAINING NO LOCATION OR IDENTIFYING DATA, CHECK THE CLEAN COPY IN THE APP BEFORE YOU SHARE IT. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INFORMATION THAT REMAINS IN, OR IS ADDED TO, A PHOTO YOU SHARE.
6. Subscriptions, Purchases and Refunds
6.1 Free Use
The App is free to download. Viewing a photo's metadata is always free, and you can clean a limited number of photos for free. Cleaning beyond that limit requires premium; the App shows what premium includes before you pay. We may change the free limit. Clean copies you have already saved are yours to keep, whatever your premium status.
6.2 Premium Plans
Premium may be offered as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the App in your own currency before you pay, and may differ by country and over time.
6.3 Billing Through Google Play Or The App Store
On Android outside India, all purchases are made and billed through Google Play. On iOS, in every country, all purchases are made and billed through the App Store. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
6.4 Billing Through PhonePe (Android, India)
On Android in India, premium is billed through PhonePe rather than through Google Play, with subscriptions paid by UPI AutoPay mandate. By approving a mandate in your UPI app, you authorise recurring automatic debits from the account you selected, for the plan amount, until you cancel. You approve every payment inside your own UPI app; we never see your UPI PIN, UPI ID, card number or bank details.
6.5 Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled:
- Google Play: turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, at Play Store > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
- App Store: turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, at iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions
- UPI AutoPay: revoke the mandate in the UPI app you approved it in, or write to support@binaryscript.com
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep premium access until then. Uninstalling the App does not cancel billing.
6.6 Free Trial
Where a free trial is offered, such as on the yearly plan, it is available once per account or store account. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically to a paid subscription at the price shown when you started it.
6.7 Lifetime Purchase
The lifetime product, where offered, is a one-time purchase that grants premium access for as long as we operate the App. It is not a guarantee that the App will exist forever, and it does not cover features we may in future offer as a separately priced product.
6.8 Price Changes
We may change prices. Changes apply to new purchases and, for subscriptions, to existing subscribers on their next renewal after the notice required by Google Play, the App Store, the UPI mandate rules or by law.
6.9 Refunds
All subscriptions and in-app purchases are final and non-refundable, including for partially used billing periods and early cancellation.
- Google Play and App Store purchases: we do not process refunds directly, because we do not receive the payment. Any refund granted is at Google's or Apple's sole discretion under their own policies. See Google Play and Apple.
- PhonePe / UPI purchases: payments taken by us directly over UPI are not refunded.
- Nothing here limits any statutory refund or cancellation right you have under applicable consumer law.

6.10 Failure To Pay
If a renewal payment fails or a mandate is revoked, premium access ends and the free limit applies again. Viewing metadata remains free.
7. Your Photos
7.1 Your Photos Are Yours
Your photos, and the clean copies the App saves, are stored on your own phone. We do not receive them, hold them or read them, and we claim no rights in them.
7.2 Photos You Have The Right To Use
Metadata can carry information that belongs to other people or that the law protects. You alone are responsible for:
- Having the right to copy, change and share each photo you clean
- Not removing copyright, author or licence information from a photo that is not yours in order to hide, enable or facilitate an infringement. Removing such information can itself be unlawful in many countries
- Not removing Content Credentials or AI-generation information in order to pass an AI-generated or AI-edited image off as an authentic, unedited photograph to deceive anyone
- Complying with the rules of any website, app or platform where you share a photo, including its rules on labelling AI-generated content
You agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from photos you clean or share, as set out in Section 12.
7.3 Account Data
If you sign in, your name, email, subscription status and related account information are held on our servers as described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App:
- To violate any law or regulation
- To infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of others, or to remove rights-management information in order to do so
- To create, spread or disguise misleading, fraudulent or deceptive images, including passing off AI-generated content as real
- To harass, stalk, defame or harm any person
- To transmit viruses, malware or malicious code
- To probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our systems, or to breach any security or authentication measure
- To access our backend other than through the App
- To build, train or improve a competing product from the App
- In any way that could damage our reputation or business
9. Intellectual Property Rights
9.1 Our Property
All content, features and functionality of the App — including the software code, the user interface design, graphics, icons, written copy and branding — are owned by Binaryscript Private Limited and protected by Indian and international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
9.2 Trademarks
"PhotoMeta", "Binaryscript" and associated logos are trademarks of Binaryscript Private Limited. You may not use them without our prior written permission. Camera, phone, software and AI brand names the App shows from a photo's metadata remain the trademarks of their respective owners; their appearance implies no affiliation with or endorsement by those companies. "C2PA" and "Content Credentials" refer to an open industry standard; the App is not affiliated with or endorsed by its publishers.
9.3 Third-Party Components
The App includes open-source and third-party components, including the Flutter framework, Firebase SDKs and various open-source packages and fonts. Those components remain subject to their own licences, which are respected and do not affect your obligations under these Terms.
9.4 Feedback
If you send us feedback, suggestions or ideas about the App, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use and incorporate them without obligation to you.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
10.1 "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE"
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
10.2 Metadata Shown And Removed
We do not warrant that the metadata the App shows is complete or correct, that it finds every kind of metadata in a file, that a clean copy contains no remaining metadata, or that any website or platform will treat a clean copy in any particular way, for example whether or not it shows an "AI" label. See Section 5.
10.3 No Professional Advice
Nothing in the App constitutes legal, security or forensic advice. Whether a photo is authentic, AI-generated or edited cannot be decided from its metadata alone.
10.4 Third-Party Services
We do not warrant the availability or behaviour of Google Play, the App Store, PhonePe, any UPI app, your gallery app, any cloud photo backup, or any other third-party service the App interacts with. A failure in any of them is outside our control.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BINARYSCRIPT PRIVATE LIMITED AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PHOTOS, PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY LOSS ARISING FROM LOCATION OR OTHER INFORMATION THAT REMAINS IN, OR IS ADDED TO, A PHOTO YOU SHARE, AND ANY ACTION TAKEN BY A WEBSITE OR PLATFORM ON A PHOTO YOU UPLOAD.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (b) INR 1,000.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Binaryscript Private Limited and its directors, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Any photo you clean, share or publish using the App
- Your violation of any rights of a third party, including copyright
13. Termination
13.1 By You
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Cancel any active subscription separately, as described in Section 6.5 — uninstalling does not cancel billing.
13.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your licence and your account at any time, without notice, if you breach these Terms.
13.3 Effect
On termination, your licence ends and you must stop using and delete the App. Clean copies already saved to your gallery are unaffected. Sections 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 15 survive termination.
14. Third-Party Services
14.1 Google Play And The App Store
Your download and use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service or the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, as applicable. Google and Apple are not parties to these Terms and have no obligation to provide support for the App.
14.2 Apple-Specific Terms
If you obtained the App from the App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims or intellectual property infringement claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
14.3 PhonePe, Razorpay And UPI
Payments in India are processed by PhonePe and executed by your UPI app and your bank, each under its own terms. Razorpay's SDK is used only to list the UPI apps on your phone. A payment failure, a mandate rejection or a delayed debit in that chain is outside our control.
14.4 Google Firebase And BigDataCloud
The App uses Firebase Authentication, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance Monitoring and Firebase Remote Config, and BigDataCloud's location lookup, as described in the Privacy Policy. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.
Before starting any formal proceeding, please write to support@binaryscript.com so we can try to resolve the matter directly.
16. General
16.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
16.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
16.3 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of it.
16.4 Assignment
You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
16.5 Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including network and payment-infrastructure outages.
16.6 Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when published, and the "Last Updated" date above will change. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance. The terms in force at the time of a purchase govern that purchase.
