PhotoMeta Support
Help with PhotoMeta by BinaryScript, the photo metadata viewer and cleaner: see the EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC and C2PA / Content Credentials data inside your JPEG, PNG and WebP photos, and save a clean copy without it.

Email: support@binaryscript.com
Please include your phone model, your Android or iOS version and the App version. If a photo will not open or clean, tell us its format (JPEG, PNG or WebP) and where it came from — which camera, app or website — but do not send us a photo that contains private information. For a payment problem, also include the order or UPI transaction reference.
Using PhotoMeta
Do I need an account?
No. PhotoMeta works without signing in. On Android in India, you are asked to sign in with Google only if you buy premium, so it can follow you to a new phone. On iOS, and on Android outside India, there is no sign-in at all.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Photos are read and cleaned on your phone and never leave it. PhotoMeta keeps no history of the photos you open or clean.
Which photos does it work with?
JPEG, PNG and WebP photos. Choose one from your photo gallery or from your files.
What metadata can it show and remove?
EXIF data, such as the camera, its settings and the date and time; GPS location, where the photo was taken; XMP and IPTC data, such as editing history, captions, author and copyright; and C2PA / Content Credentials, including records that a photo was made or edited with AI tools.
Does cleaning change my original photo?
No. Your original is never modified. The clean copy is saved to your gallery as a new photo.
Where is the clean copy saved?
In your phone's photo gallery, with your other photos. If your gallery is backed up to Google Photos or iCloud, the clean copy is backed up like any other photo.
The App says it couldn't clean a photo
Some files store metadata in a way that cannot be removed without risking damage to the photo. When that happens, PhotoMeta tells you and leaves the photo unchanged. Email us with the photo's format and where it came from, and we will look into supporting it.
Is a clean copy completely anonymous?
It has the metadata PhotoMeta found removed, but nothing in the picture itself is changed: faces, signs, landmarks and documents in the photo still show where and who it is. Websites you upload to may also add their own data. If it matters, open the clean copy in PhotoMeta to check it before you share it.
Free Use and Premium
What is free?
Viewing metadata is always free, and you can clean a limited number of photos for free. Premium removes the limit.
How do I pay for premium?
On Android in India, you pay through PhonePe with UPI AutoPay, approving the payment in your own UPI app. On Android elsewhere you pay through Google Play, and on iOS through the App Store. The App shows what premium includes and its price before you pay.
I paid but premium didn't unlock
On Android in India, make sure you are signed in with the same Google account you paid with. Through Google Play or the App Store, make sure the phone is using the same Google Play or Apple account you paid with. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the order or transaction reference and we will sort it out.
How do I cancel?
For UPI AutoPay, cancel the mandate in the UPI app you approved it in, or email us. For Google Play, open Play Store > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. For the App Store, open iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Uninstalling the App does not cancel billing. See the Refund Policy.
Your Data
What do you collect?
Your photos and their metadata never reach us. We collect anonymous usage, crash and performance statistics, which contain no photo, file name or metadata value, and, only if you sign in to buy premium in India, your account and subscription details. The full details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data or my account?
Uninstalling the App removes everything it stored on your phone. Clean copies stay in your gallery until you delete them. To delete an account and its server record, follow How to Delete Your Account.
