Shadefall, a Spames puzzle game

Last Updated: 21 October 2026

Introduction

Binaryscript Private Limited ("we", "our", or "us") makes the Shadefall mobile game (the "App") under its Spames label for puzzle games. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, why it is collected, who receives it, and what control you have over it.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Shadefall is a puzzle game. It has no account system, no sign-in, no chat and no text input. It never asks for your name, email address or anything else about you. We run no server of our own that receives your game data. What does leave your device is described below: usage statistics and crash reports, and the data our advertising partners need to show ads.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide

None, while you play. The App has no login, no registration, no profile and no text fields.

If you write to us at support@binaryscript.com, we receive your email address and whatever you put in your message, and use them only to answer you.

1.2 Information Stored On Your Device

The App stores your game on your device, using your device's own app storage, for example:

  • Your progress: the levels you have finished, stars, coins, boosters and the themes you have unlocked
  • Your daily challenge streak
  • Your settings: sound, vibration, colour-blind palette, shade symbols, large mode and light or dark theme
  • Whether you have finished the tutorial
  • Your answers to the privacy questions described in Section 3
  • If you bought something: which items you own, such as the option to remove ads

We never receive this data and cannot read it. Your device's own backup may include it (Android Auto Backup to your Google account, or your iCloud or computer backup on iOS); those backups belong to your account and are managed by Google or Apple, not by us. Clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App deletes it from your device.

1.3 Information Collected Automatically

The App uses the following services, which collect limited technical information:

a) Google Analytics for Firebase
Used to understand how the game is played, so we can tune its difficulty and fix what confuses players. It collects:

  • Game events generated by the App:
    • Levels: a level was started, completed, failed or got stuck, with the level number, the attempt, the number of moves and the level type
    • Help: tutorial steps completed (with how long each took), the tutorial finished, and the rules panel opened
    • Boosters and rewards: a booster used (which one, on which level, and whether it was free, from an ad or bought), and a reward offer shown and its result
    • Daily challenge: started and completed, with your streak
    • Settings: a setting or theme changed, and its new value
    • Ads: an ad offered and watched, with its type and the place in the game it was offered
    • Purchases: a purchase screen shown, and a purchase made with its product, price and currency
    • Sessions: when you start and stop playing, and for how long
  • Device information: device model, operating system version, App version, screen and language settings
  • Identifiers: a Firebase app instance identifier and, where you allow it, the device advertising identifier (see Section 3)
  • An approximate, coarse location (typically country or region) that Google derives from the IP address of the connection. The App does not request any location permission and never accesses your device's GPS.
  • Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

b) GameAnalytics
A game analytics service we use alongside Firebase, to measure retention and progression across levels. It receives the same game events as Google Analytics for Firebase, together with device model, operating system and App version, a GameAnalytics user identifier, the revenue from ads shown and purchases made, and a coarse location derived from the IP address.

  • Privacy Policy: https://gameanalytics.com/privacy

c) Firebase Crashlytics
Used to find and fix crashes. It collects crash and error reports (the stack trace and the state of the App at the time), device model, operating system version, App version and a Crashlytics installation identifier.

d) Firebase Performance Monitoring
Used to find what makes the App slow. It collects app start time, screen rendering times and network request timings, with device model, operating system version and App version.

e) Firebase Remote Config
The App downloads settings from Google, for example the order of levels, how often ads may appear between levels, and which App version to suggest updating to. Nothing about you is sent beyond what Firebase needs to deliver them.

Game events never contain your name, email address or any text you type; the App has nowhere to type. Where the law requires your consent first (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), analytics run only after you have answered the privacy question in Section 3, and only if you allowed them.

1.4 What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect: your name, email address (unless you write to us), phone number or postal address; your contacts; your photos, camera or microphone; your files; your precise location; your messages; health or fitness information; your card or billing details.

Permissions. The App asks for no permission while you play. On iOS it may ask once for permission to track (App Tracking Transparency), as described in Section 3; you can say no and the game works the same.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described in Section 1.3 only for:

  • Making the game better: finding levels that are too hard, too easy or confusing, and how well the tutorial teaches the rules
  • Fixing failures: diagnosing crashes and slowness so the App works on more devices
  • Running the game's economy and ads: setting how often ads appear and what rewards and offers cost
  • Showing and measuring ads, as described in Section 3
  • Legal compliance where applicable

We do not use this information to identify you as an individual.

3. Advertising

Shadefall is free to play and is supported by ads:

  • Rewarded ads that you choose to watch, for example for an extra container, more undos or double coins. They are always optional.
  • Full-screen ads between levels, never during a level, and limited in how often they appear. Buying the remove-ads option turns these off.

Ads are delivered by an ad mediation service, which requests ads from a number of advertising networks ("our advertising partners"). To show an ad, measure it and prevent fraud, our advertising partners receive information from your device, which may include:

  • The device advertising identifier (Google advertising ID on Android; IDFA on iOS, only if you allow tracking)
  • IP address and an approximate location derived from it
  • Device model, operating system, language and App version
  • Which ads were shown, watched to the end or tapped

Our advertising partners process this information under their own privacy policies, and may use it to show you ads based on your interests (personalised ads) where you have allowed it.

3.1 Your Choices About Ads
  • European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: when you first open the App, it shows a consent form from Google's consent tool. It lists our advertising partners, and lets you choose whether your data may be used for personalised ads and for analytics. If you do not agree, you still see ads, but they are not personalised. You can change your answer at any time from the App's Settings.
  • iOS: the App asks for permission to track. If you decline, the IDFA is not shared and ads are not personalised using it. You can change your answer in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings > Google > Ads (or Settings > Privacy > Ads), and manage ads personalisation at https://adssettings.google.com.

Tapping an ad may open the advertiser's website or a store page. Those are not ours, and the advertiser's own privacy policy applies there.

4. In-App Purchases

The App is free to download and to play. It offers optional in-app purchases of items with fixed contents, such as coins, boosters and the option to remove the ads shown between levels. There are no paid random rewards.

All payments are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own privacy policies. We never receive or store your card details, billing address or any other payment information. A purchase may be checked with Google Play or the App Store before its items are granted, and the App keeps a record of what you own on your device. You can restore purchases from the App's Settings. See also our Refund Policy.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
5.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell your information for money, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes beyond what is described in this policy. In some places (for example California), sharing an advertising identifier with advertising partners for personalised ads may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information under local law. You can opt out of it with the choices in Section 3.1.

5.2 Service Providers

The only third parties that receive data from the App, and only for the purposes described above, are:

  • Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance Monitoring and Firebase Remote Config (Google LLC)
  • GameAnalytics (GameAnalytics ApS)
  • Our ad mediation service and the advertising networks it works with, as listed in the consent form described in Section 3.1
  • Google's consent tool (Google LLC)
  • Google Play Billing (Google LLC): https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Apple App Store (Apple Inc.): https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order or other legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety or property, or to investigate fraud or abuse.

5.4 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will update this policy if that happens.

6. Data Storage and Security
  • Your game progress and purchase record are stored on your device, and in your own device backup if you use one. We have no copy of them.
  • Analytics, crash, performance and advertising data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored by the service providers in Section 5.2 under their own security practices.
  • We follow reasonable secure development practices and keep the App's services updated.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention
  • On-device data: kept until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App. Copies in your Google or Apple backup follow that service's own retention.
  • Crash reports: retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days
  • Analytics data: retained according to our Google Analytics retention setting, and in any case for no longer than 14 months; GameAnalytics keeps data according to its own policy
  • Advertising data: kept by each advertising partner under its own policy
  • Purchase records: kept by Google Play or the App Store under their own policies
  • Support emails: kept as long as needed to answer you and for our records
8. Your Rights and Choices
8.1 Your On-Device Data

You control it completely. Uninstalling the App removes everything it has stored on your device. There is no account to delete.

8.2 Analytics, Crash and Advertising Data

Because the App collects no name or contact details, we generally cannot connect this data to you as a person. If you want us to delete data associated with your device, write to support@binaryscript.com with your device model and the approximate dates you played, and we will do what we can to locate and delete it. You can also reset your advertising identifier or change your consent choices as described in Section 3.1.

8.3 Rights Under Applicable Law

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to it, to withdraw consent, or to opt out of personalised advertising. To exercise any of these, contact support@binaryscript.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Shadefall is made for adults. It is not directed at children, and it is not designed to meet the special requirements for children's apps (such as the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act or Google Play's Families programme). Its ads are not restricted to child-appropriate advertising.

Children under 13 (or under the minimum age for consenting to data processing where you live) should not use the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App and you want their data deleted, contact support@binaryscript.com and we will do what we can to delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

We operate from India. Analytics, crash, performance and advertising data is processed by our service providers on infrastructure that may be located in the United States, the European Union or elsewhere. By using the App you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in those countries, which may have different data protection laws than your own.

11. Links in the App

The App's Settings have a Contact support option that opens your email app, and open this Privacy Policy and our Terms in an in-app web view. Ads may link to other websites and apps, as described in Section 3. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated policy is published. Material changes (in particular, any change to what we collect or who receives it) will be published before the version of the App that makes them is released, and the "Last Updated" date above will change.

Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

13. Governing Law and Compliance

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.

We comply with applicable Indian data protection law, including:

  • Information Technology Act, 2000
  • Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011
