Privacy Policy for Attendance Tracker

BinaryScript Private Limited ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Attendance Tracker mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and why.

Your attendance and salary records are stored on your phone. They leave your phone only if you turn on cloud backup, and we never sell them. The App shows no ads, and BinaryScript runs no server that receives your records.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Enter (On Your Phone)
- Workers and their details, attendance, salary, advances and payments, and the App's settings
- These are stored in the App's storage on your phone. They are not sent to us, except inside your own cloud backup if you turn it on (section 3.2)
1.2 Account (Android Only, Optional)
On Android you can sign in with Google, only to turn on cloud backup. Firebase Authentication then keeps your name, email address and Google account ID. The App works without signing in. There is no account on iOS.
1.3 Contacts
If you import a worker from your contacts, the App reads the contact you pick on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, except inside your own encrypted cloud backup if you turn it on.
1.4 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage and device information (Firebase Analytics): app usage events, device model and operating system, app version, country and an app instance identifier
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and performance data (Firebase Performance Monitoring)
- Install referrer (Google Play Install Referrer, Android): used to open the App in the language of the ad or store listing you came from
- Advertising identifier: on Android the App requests the advertising ID (AD_ID permission), and on iOS it asks through App Tracking Transparency. These are used only to measure installs from our own Google Ads campaigns (Firebase Analytics / Google Ads), not to show ads
1.5 What We Do Not Collect
- Your location: the App collects no location
- Your fingerprint or face: the biometric lock is checked by your phone, and nothing leaves it
- Your card or bank details: purchases are handled by Google Play or the App Store
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the App and, if you turn it on, cloud backup and restore
- To provide and restore your subscription
- To fix crashes and improve the App's performance
- To understand which features are used
- To measure which of our Google Ads campaigns bring installs
- To respond to support requests
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 On Your Phone
Your records are stored in the App's private storage on your phone. If you turn on the App's lock, your phone checks your fingerprint, face or device lock.
3.2 Cloud Backup (Optional, Premium)
- Android: backups go to Firebase Cloud Storage (Google, US region), in a folder linked to your Google sign-in. The last 5 backups are kept for each user.
- iOS: backups go to your own iCloud, under your Apple account.
- Encryption: each new backup is encrypted on your phone before it leaves it (AES-256-GCM), with a key derived (PBKDF2) from your own account: on Android, the Firebase account ID of your Google sign-in; on iOS, a random secret created on your device and kept in your own iCloud next to your backups. The key is no longer built into the App.
- Older backups: backups made before this change keep the App's old built-in key until they are replaced by new ones (on Android the last 5 backups are kept).
- This is not end-to-end encryption: on Android your account ID is known to us. The main protection against other people remains that only your signed-in account (on iOS, your iCloud) can reach your backups.
3.3 Security
Connections to Firebase are encrypted (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; protect your phone with a screen lock.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, trade or rent your information. The App shows no ads, and there is no AdMob or other ad network in the App.

4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Use the App without signing in; sign-in is needed only for cloud backup on Android
- Turn cloud backup on or off, and restore your records from a backup
- Reset or delete your Android advertising ID, or decline tracking on iOS, in your device settings
- Delete your account and cloud backups: see How to Delete Your Account
- Delete everything on your phone by uninstalling the App
- Ask us for access to or correction of your data. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and similar laws you may have further rights; contact us to use them
6. Data Retention
- Records on your phone stay until you delete them or uninstall the App
- Android cloud backups: the last 5 are kept until you delete your account; we delete the account and every backup under it within 30 days of your email request
- iCloud backups stay in your iCloud until you delete them
- Analytics and crash data are kept according to Firebase's retention settings
7. Children's Privacy
The App is meant for businesses and employers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. International Data Transfers
Firebase may process data outside India; Android cloud backups are stored in Google's US region.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last Updated" date above shows the latest version.
