Privacy Policy for AirChat

BinaryScript Private Limited ("Binary Script," "we," "us," or "our") operates the AirChat mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and why. It applies to AirChat version 1.2 and later.

AirChat has no sign-in and no account on our servers. Messages, media and calls go directly from device to device over your local Wi-Fi network. No AirChat server relays or stores them, and we cannot read, access or recover them.
1. Your Profile (On Your Device)
AirChat does not ask for an email address, a phone number or a Google or Apple sign-in. On first launch the App creates a random ID on your device, and you pick a display name. You can also add a status and a photo.
Your ID, name, status and photo are stored on your device. They are shared only with people on the same Wi-Fi network who are running AirChat, so they can see who is nearby. They are not sent to us.
2. Messages, Media and Calls
- Messages, photos, videos, voice notes, files and voice and video calls go directly from your device to the other person's device over the local Wi-Fi network
- Each connection between two devices is authenticated and encrypted
- Your chats are stored in an encrypted database on your device (AES-256). Its key is kept in your device's secure storage
- There is no cloud backup. We cannot read, access or recover your messages
Messages you send are stored on the other person's device too. Deleting them on your device does not delete them there.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Analytics and Crash Reports (Google Firebase)
We use Google Firebase, provided by Google LLC, to understand how the App is used and to fix problems:
- Firebase Analytics: app events such as screens opened, features used and connection success or failure; device model, operating system version, app version, country and language; an app instance identifier and the advertising ID
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash logs and device information
3.2 Meta (Facebook) App Events
The Meta App Events SDK, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., receives app install and usage events, which we use to measure our ads.
3.3 Purchases
The optional AirChat Hero subscription is bought through Google Play or the App Store. They process the payment; we receive the purchase status, not your card or payment details.
3.4 What We Do Not Collect
- The content of your messages, media or calls
- Your contacts
- Your location: the App does not read or store your location
- Your email address, phone number or any sign-in account
4. Permissions
- Nearby Wi-Fi devices and location (Android): Android requires these permissions to discover other devices on the local network. The App does not read or store your location.
- Camera: taking photos and video calls
- Microphone: voice notes and calls
- Notifications: alerts for new messages and calls
- Storage: sending and saving files
5. Other Network Requests
The "More apps" screen loads a list of our other apps from binaryscript.com. No personal data is sent with this request.
6. How We Use Information

- To provide and restore your subscription

8. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade or rent your information. We share information only with the service providers listed above, as needed to run the App, or when required by law.
9. Data Security
Connections between devices are encrypted, and your chats are stored in an encrypted database on your device. Protect your device with a screen lock. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
- Data on your device stays until you delete it in the App (Settings > Delete account) or uninstall the App. See How to Delete Your Data.
- There is no account on our servers, so there is nothing of yours there to delete.
- Analytics and crash data are kept according to Firebase's and Meta's retention settings. They are not linked to a name or email address.
11. Your Choices and Rights
- You can refuse or withdraw any permission in your device settings
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID on Android, or decline tracking on iOS, in your device settings
- For questions about analytics data, or to ask us to delete it, write to support@binaryscript.com. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and similar laws you may have further rights; contact us to use them
12. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
13. International Transfers
Firebase and Meta may process analytics data outside India, including in the United States.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last Updated" date above shows the latest version.
