Privacy Policy for BinaryScript Ad Video Uploader

BinaryScript Private Limited ("we," "us," or "our") operates BinaryScript Ad Video Uploader (the "Tool"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Tool accesses, stores and uses, and why.

1. About the Tool
The Tool is an internal command-line program used only by BinaryScript's own team, on BinaryScript's own computer. It is not public, not distributed or sold, and has no sign-up and no other users. It uploads BinaryScript's own ad videos, for its apps on Google Play and the App Store, to YouTube channels BinaryScript owns (the BinaryScript channel and the AutoPay Manager Brand Account channel) as Unlisted videos, so they can be used in BinaryScript's own Google Ads App campaigns.
2. YouTube API Services
The Tool uses YouTube API Services. By using YouTube through the Tool, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy: http://www.google.com/policies/privacy.
3. Information the Tool Accesses
The Tool signs in with Google OAuth 2.0 as the owner of the channel it uploads to, and asks for two permissions:
- youtube.upload: to upload videos to that channel.
- youtube.readonly: to read that channel's identity and the status of its own videos.
It makes three kinds of YouTube API requests:
- videos.insert: uploads a video with its title, description, tags, category, language and privacy status (Unlisted).
- channels.list (for the signed-in channel only): confirms the Tool is signed in to the intended channel before it uploads.
- videos.list (status only): reads back the privacy status of videos the Tool has uploaded.
The Tool does not access, collect or store any information about any other YouTube user or channel.
4. Information the Tool Stores
- OAuth tokens: one file per channel, kept only on BinaryScript's computer and readable only by the user account that runs the Tool (file mode 600). The tokens are never sent anywhere except to Google.
- Upload ledger: a record of the videos the Tool has uploaded (video ID, URL, title, app, language, format, source file name, privacy status and upload date), kept in BinaryScript's private repository.
5. How Information Is Used
- The OAuth tokens are used only to make the YouTube API requests listed above for the channel they belong to.
- The ledger is used to keep track of which ad videos have been uploaded, and to use their URLs in BinaryScript's own Google Ads App campaigns.
6. Sharing
We do not sell, trade, rent or share this information with third parties. The uploaded videos' URLs are used only in BinaryScript's own Google Ads campaigns.
7. Third-party Content and Advertising
The Tool does not show any content or advertising, from third parties or otherwise.
8. Cookies and Device Information
The Tool is a command-line program. It does not store, access or collect cookies or similar technologies, it uses no analytics, and it does not read any information from a device other than the video files it is given to upload.
9. Data Retention and Refresh
- The privacy status recorded in the ledger is refreshed from YouTube on demand, and we refresh or delete the YouTube API data in the ledger at least every 30 days.
- OAuth tokens are kept until access is revoked or the Tool is no longer used.
10. Revoking Access and Deletion
The channel owner can revoke the Tool's access to their Google account at any time from the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
Once access is revoked, the stored tokens can no longer be used, and we delete them within 7 days. On request, we also delete the ledger entries for that channel.
11. Data Security
The tokens are stored on BinaryScript's computer with access restricted to the user account that runs the Tool, and all requests to Google are encrypted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last Updated" date above shows the latest version.
