Privacy Policy for RadarMap

Last Updated: October 15, 2026

Binaryscript Private Limited ("we," "us," or "our") operates the RadarMap mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using RadarMap, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Key Privacy Principle

Your GPS location stays on your device. We use it only on your phone to detect nearby cameras and provide alerts, and never upload it or keep your movements or driving history. Separately, we work out an approximate location (city and state) from your network address; see 1.4.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or use our App, we may collect:

  • Account Information: When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
  • Camera Reports: When you report a speed camera or traffic hazard, we collect the camera location, type, speed limit, direction, and any notes you provide. Your user ID is associated with your reports. When you answer whether a reported camera was there ("Yes" / "Not there"), we store your answer with your user ID so each driver counts once. We also keep a trust score for your account, based on whether your reports were confirmed by other drivers, and how many reports you made today, to stop abuse.
  • User Preferences: Your chosen settings including alert mode preferences, speed unit (km/h or mph), and theme preferences.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use RadarMap, certain information is collected automatically:

  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Usage Data: App feature usage, interaction patterns, and performance data through Firebase Analytics.
  • Performance Data: App start time, screen rendering and network request timings through Firebase Performance Monitoring.
  • Crash Reports: If the App crashes, we collect diagnostic information through Firebase Crashlytics to help us improve stability.
1.3 Location Information
Local Processing Only

RadarMap requires access to your device's location to function:

  • Real-Time Location: Used locally on your device to detect nearby cameras, calculate your speed, and provide proximity alerts.
  • Background Location: Used for continuous monitoring while you use other navigation apps.

IMPORTANT: Your real-time GPS location is processed entirely on your device and is NOT transmitted to or stored on our servers. We do not track your movements or driving history.

Camera Report Locations: When you submit a camera report, only the camera's location (not your personal location history) is stored.

1.4 Approximate Location from Your Network Address
  • When the App starts, it asks BigDataCloud (a geolocation service) to estimate your approximate location from your IP address: country, state, city and an approximate point for that city. No GPS and no location permission are used for this.
  • If you have an account with our servers (for example to subscribe in India), we store this approximate location with your account once. We do not update it as you move. It is not sold and not shared with advertisers.
1.5 Subscriptions and Payments
  • Outside India, subscriptions and the one-time Lifetime purchase are billed by Google Play. We receive the purchase status from Google, never your card details.
  • In India, subscriptions can be paid with UPI through PhonePe (UPI AutoPay or a QR code). Our servers create and verify the order with PhonePe and keep the order ID, plan, amount, status and dates. Your UPI ID, bank and PIN stay with your UPI app and PhonePe; we never see them.
  • To create your account on our servers, we receive your name and email from Google Sign-In, the device model, Android version and an app-scoped device identifier, your app language and Play country, and a referral code if you came through a referral link.
