Origami 3D: Learn to Fold
Last Updated: 14 October 2026
Introduction
Binaryscript Private Limited ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Origami 3D mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, why it is collected, and what control you have over it.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The App is a self-contained origami course. It has no account system, no sign-in and no text input of any kind. It does not ask you for your name, your email address or anything else about you, and there is no way for you to give it that information even if you wanted to. Purchases are made through Google Play or the Apple App Store, which handle your payment details; we never receive them.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
None. The App has no login, no registration, no profile, no messaging, no comments and no text fields. There is nothing for you to type and nothing for us to collect.
If you buy a subscription or the lifetime unlock, you do so in Google Play or the App Store. Your card, billing address and store account details go to the store, not to us.
1.2 Information Stored On Your Device
The App stores the following locally on your device, using your device's own app-preferences storage:
- Which lessons you have marked as folded (a list of lesson identifiers, for example "crane" or "kite-base")
- The language you chose, and whether you have seen the introduction screens
- Whether you chose to continue with the free lessons
- If you bought something: the product identifier of your purchase and when the store last confirmed it
- While a checkout is in progress: a short-lived record of the product, its price and currency, and whether it starts with a free trial
- Viewer settings: paper colours, left-handed mode and slow folds
- The date the App last showed you the store's rate-this-app prompt, and whether it has already shown the one-time prompt after your first completed model
- The last App version it suggested you update to
We never receive this data and cannot read it. Your device's own backup may include it: on Android, Auto Backup can copy it to your Google account and restore it when you set up a new phone; on iOS, it can be part of your iCloud or computer backup. Those backups belong to your account and are managed by Google or Apple, not by us. Clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App deletes it from your device.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
The App uses the following Google services, which collect limited technical information:
a) Google Analytics for Firebase
Used to understand how the course and the App are working (which lessons people start, finish, or give up on, and how people move through the introduction and the purchase screen) and to measure our advertising (see Section 3). It collects:
- Usage events generated by the App:
- Lessons: a lesson was opened (with its identifier, type, difficulty and number of steps), completed or abandoned (with seconds spent in the viewer), and progress was reset (with how many lessons were cleared)
- Introduction and settings: introduction shown and completed, language chosen, the App shared, support opened, a legal page viewed, the More apps list opened, an update suggestion shown, and whether the store review prompt was requested or skipped
- Purchases: purchase screen shown, a plan selected, the free lessons chosen, a purchase started, pending, failed or ended, a free trial started (with the product identifier and the store's transaction identifier), and a purchase made (with the price, currency, product identifier and the store's transaction identifier)
- On iOS: your answer to the tracking permission request
- Screen views within the App
- Device information: device model, operating system version, App version, screen and language settings
- Session information: when the App was opened and how long it was used
- Identifiers: a Firebase installation/app instance identifier and, on Android, the device advertising ID, which Google Analytics for Firebase collects by default. On iOS, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is available only if you allow tracking when the App asks.
- An approximate, coarse location (typically country or region) that Google derives from the IP address of the connection. The App does not request or use any location permission and never accesses your device's GPS.
- Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
b) Firebase Crashlytics
Used to find and fix crashes and errors. It collects:
- Crash and error reports, including the stack trace, the state of the App at the time, and, where relevant, which lesson was open when the failure happened
- Device model, operating system version and App version
- A Crashlytics installation identifier
- Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Crash reporting is disabled in development builds of the App.
c) Firebase Performance Monitoring
Used to find what makes the App slow. It collects app start time, screen rendering times and network request timings, with device model, operating system version and App version.
d) Firebase Remote Config
The App downloads settings from Google, for example whether to offer the free lessons and which App version to suggest updating to. Nothing about you is sent beyond what Firebase needs to deliver them.
e) Install referrer and deferred link (language only)
On its first start, the App reads the Google Play install referrer (Android) and the deferred link from Google Analytics. It uses only their language value, to open in the language of the ad or link that brought you to the App.
None of these services receives your list of folded lessons as a stored record. The App reports that a lesson was completed at the moment it happens; it never uploads the progress list itself.
1.4 What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number or postal address; your contacts; your photos, camera or microphone; your files; your precise location; your messages; health or fitness information; your card or billing details; or any content you create.
Permissions. On Android the App asks for no permission while you use it. Its manifest declares internet access, Google Play Billing, the Play install referrer service, and the advertising ID permission (added by Google Analytics for Firebase). On iOS the App asks once for permission to track (App Tracking Transparency), as described in Section 3. You can say no and the App works the same.
The folding viewer runs on a small web server the App starts on your own device (address 127.0.0.1, reachable only from your device and by the App itself); Android requires the internet permission to open such a server at all. The traffic that actually leaves your device is: the Google services described above, purchases with Google Play or the App Store, and the list of our other apps, which the "More apps" screen loads from binaryscript.com with no personal data. Every lesson, 3D model and piece of the folding engine is built into the App; no lesson content is downloaded after install.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described in Section 1.3 only for:
- Understanding the course: which lessons are too hard, which ones lose people, which ones nobody reaches
- Fixing failures: diagnosing crashes, slowness and viewer errors so the App works on more devices
- Improving the App: deciding which models and features to build next, and how the introduction and purchase screens work
- Measuring our advertising: learning which of our ads lead to installs, trials and purchases (Section 3)
- Legal compliance where applicable
We do not show you ads, and we do not use this information to identify you as an individual.
3. Advertising
The App shows no ads. There is no advertising SDK in the App and no ads are shown to you at any point.
We advertise the App itself with Google Ads. Google Analytics for Firebase is linked to our Google Ads account, so installs and in-app events (first open, a free trial started, a purchase made, and the stores' subscription conversions) are used to measure and optimise our ad campaigns.
- Android: Google Analytics for Firebase collects the device advertising ID, as described in Section 1.3. You can reset it or delete it in Settings > Google > Ads (or Settings > Privacy > Ads), and manage ads personalisation at https://adssettings.google.com.
- iOS: the App asks for permission to track. If you allow it, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is available to Google Analytics for ad measurement. If you decline, it is not, and the App works the same. You can change your answer in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
4. In-App Purchases
The App is free to download. The first module and every base and technique are free; the other lessons need a purchase. On the purchase screen you can choose "Continue with free lessons" instead.
- Google Play (Android): a quarterly subscription and a yearly subscription, each with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers, and a one-time lifetime unlock
- Apple App Store (iOS): a one-time lifetime unlock
All payments are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own privacy policies. We never receive or store your card details, billing address or any other payment information. The App keeps the product identifier of your purchase and the date the store last confirmed it on your device, to unlock the course. You can restore a purchase in Settings. See also our Refund Policy.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
5.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, trade, rent or share your information with third parties for their own purposes.
5.2 Service Providers
The only third parties that receive data from the App, and only for the purposes described above, are:
- Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance Monitoring and Firebase Remote Config (Google LLC)
- Google Ads, through Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC)
- Google Play Billing (Google LLC): https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple App Store (Apple Inc.): https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order or other legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety or property, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
5.4 Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will update this policy if that happens.
6. Data Storage and Security
- Your folding progress and purchase record are stored on your device, and in your own device backup if you use one. We operate no server that holds them and we have no copy of them.
- Analytics, crash and performance data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on Google's infrastructure under Google's security practices.
- We follow reasonable secure development practices and keep dependencies updated.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
- On-device data: kept until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App. Copies in your Google or Apple backup follow that service's own retention.
- Crash reports: retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days
- Analytics data: retained according to our Firebase Analytics retention setting, and in any case for no longer than 14 months
- Purchase records: kept by Google Play or the App Store under their own policies
8. Your Rights and Choices
8.1 Your On-Device Data
You control it completely. The App has a reset option that clears your folding progress, and uninstalling the App removes everything it has stored on your device. There is no account to delete.
8.2 Analytics and Crash Data
Because the App collects no identifying information, we generally cannot connect analytics or crash data to you as a person. If you want us to delete data associated with your device, write to support@binaryscript.com with your device model and the approximate dates you used the App, and we will do what we can to locate and delete it.
8.3 Advertising Identifier
You can reset your advertising ID on Android, or decline or withdraw tracking permission on iOS, as described in Section 3.
8.4 Rights Under Applicable Law
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, or to object to it. To exercise any of these, contact support@binaryscript.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is rated for everyone and contains nothing objectionable, but it is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Origami is an activity families do together, and children may well use the App alongside a parent. It has no account, no chat, no user-generated content and no ads, so there is nothing in it for a child to disclose. Purchases go through Google Play or the App Store, whose own parental controls can require a parent's approval. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact support@binaryscript.com and we will delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
We operate from India. Analytics, crash, performance and advertising-measurement data is processed by Google on infrastructure that may be located in the United States or elsewhere. By using the App you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in those countries, which may have different data protection laws than your own.
11. Links in the App
The App contains no advertisements. Settings has a "More apps" list that opens our other apps' pages in Google Play or the App Store, a Share option, and a Contact support option that opens your email app. This Privacy Policy and our Terms open in an in-app web view. Google and Apple handle their store pages under their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for the practices of other third parties.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated policy is published. Material changes (in particular, any change to what we collect) will be published before the version of the App that makes them is released, and the "Last Updated" date above will change.
Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
13. Governing Law and Compliance
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.
We comply with applicable Indian data protection law, including:
- Information Technology Act, 2000
- Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011
