Refund Policy Overview

Water Reminder - Hydration Tracker offers premium subscription plans that are processed through two payment platforms: Google Play Billing (global) and Razorpay (India). This refund policy outlines the terms and conditions for requesting refunds for these purchases.

BinaryScript Private Limited ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to customer satisfaction and will work with you to resolve any issues related to your purchase.

Payment Platforms

Depending on your location, subscriptions are processed through:

  • Global Users: Google Play Billing
  • Indian Users: Razorpay payment gateway (optional alternative)
1. Google Play Store Refunds

For purchases made through the Google Play Store, refund requests are handled directly by Google, not by BinaryScript Private Limited. According to Google's policy:

  • For eligible in-app purchases and new subscriptions, you can request a refund within 48 hours of purchase
  • To request a refund, visit Google Play Order History, select your Water Reminder purchase, and click "Request a refund"
  • For subscription purchases, you may cancel at any time, but the subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period
  • No refunds are provided for the current subscription period after the initial 48-hour window, except in special circumstances (see below)
  • Google makes all final decisions regarding refunds for Google Play purchases
How to Request Google Play Refund
  1. Open your web browser and go to play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory
  2. Sign in with the Google account you used for the purchase
  3. Find the Water Reminder purchase in your order history
  4. Click on "Request a refund" or "Report a problem"
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your refund request
2. Razorpay Payment Refunds (India)

For purchases made through Razorpay (Indian users who chose this payment option), refund requests must be submitted directly to us:

  • Refund requests must be submitted to [email protected] within 7 days of purchase
  • Refunds are at our sole discretion
  • If approved, refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used
How to Request Razorpay Refund
  1. Send an email to [email protected]
  2. Subject line: "Water Reminder Refund Request - Razorpay"
  3. Include:
    • Your registered email address or phone number
    • Razorpay transaction ID or payment reference number
    • Date of purchase
    • Reason for refund request
    • Screenshots of payment confirmation (if available)
  4. We will review your request and respond within 3-5 business days
3. Subscription Cancellations

You may cancel your Water Reminder premium subscription at any time. The cancellation process depends on your payment method:

3.1 Canceling Google Play Subscriptions
  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device
  2. Tap the profile icon in the top right corner
  3. Tap "Payments & subscriptions"
  4. Tap "Subscriptions"
  5. Find the Water Reminder subscription and tap it
  6. Tap "Cancel subscription" and follow the on-screen instructions
3.2 Canceling Razorpay Subscriptions

To cancel a Razorpay subscription:

  • Subject line: "Water Reminder Subscription Cancellation - Razorpay"
  • Include your email address and subscription details
  • We will process your cancellation request within 1-2 business days
Important Notes About Cancellation
  • Canceling a subscription will stop automatic renewal
  • You will still have access to premium features until the end of your current billing period
  • No prorated refunds are provided for partial billing periods
  • Your hydration data will remain intact after cancellation
  • You can resubscribe at any time after cancellation
4. Free Trial Refunds

If we offer a free trial period for premium subscriptions:

  • You can cancel during the trial period to avoid being charged
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent automatic billing
  • If you forget to cancel and are charged, you can request a refund within the standard refund windows (48 hours for Google Play, 7 days for Razorpay)
  • Refund eligibility for trial-to-paid conversions is subject to the same terms as regular purchases
5. Eligibility for Refunds

Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:

  • The purchase was made within the applicable refund window (48 hours for Google Play, 7 days for Razorpay)
  • Technical issues prevent you from accessing premium features despite troubleshooting attempts
  • The app fails to deliver core functionality as described in the app listing
  • Duplicate or unauthorized charges occurred
  • Billing errors or incorrect subscription charges
  • Critical bugs that prevent basic hydration tracking or reminders
6. Non-Refundable Items

The following are generally NOT eligible for refunds:

  • Subscriptions active for more than the refund window without technical issues
  • Subscriptions that have been used to access premium features during the billing period
  • Subscriptions canceled after the renewal date has passed
  • Refund requests based on personal preference or change of mind after the refund window
  • Subscriptions where the user was able to successfully use premium features
  • Charges incurred due to failure to cancel before the renewal date
  • Dissatisfaction with the App after prolonged use (beyond refund window)
  • Technical issues caused by your device, operating system, or internet connection
  • Violation of our Terms of Service resulting in account termination
7. Technical Issues and Special Circumstances

If you encounter technical issues with Water Reminder that prevent you from using the premium features you've purchased, please contact us at [email protected] before requesting a refund.

We Will Work With You To:
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance and support
  • Offer alternative solutions or workarounds
  • Update the app to fix bugs affecting premium features
  • Investigate any data sync or cloud backup issues
  • Provide guidance on proper app usage for optimal results
Special Circumstances Refund Process

In exceptional cases where the app fails to deliver core functionality and we are unable to resolve the issue:

  2. Subject line: "Water Reminder - Technical Issue Refund Request"
  3. Include:
    • Your Google Play order number or Razorpay transaction ID
    • Email address associated with your account
    • Description of the specific functionality that's not working

    • Device model, Android/iOS version, and app version
    • Steps you've already taken to troubleshoot
  4. Allow us reasonable time to attempt to resolve the issue (typically 7-14 business days)

Please note that for Google Play purchases, we cannot directly process refunds, but we can provide documentation to support your refund request with Google Play support.

8. Refund Processing Timeline

For approved refunds:

  • Google Play: Typically processes refunds within 48 hours of approval
  • Razorpay: 7-10 business days after approval
  • It may take 3-5 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your payment method
  • Credit card refunds may take one or two billing cycles to appear on your statement
  • Bank transfer refunds may take 5-7 business days
9. Fraudulent Purchases and Chargebacks

If you believe a purchase was made without your authorization:

  • Contact the payment platform (Google Play or Razorpay) immediately to report unauthorized charges
  • Secure your Google account or payment account by changing your password
  • Enable two-factor authentication on your accounts
  • Review recent account activity for other unauthorized purchases
  • Contact us at [email protected] to report the incident

Important: Initiating a chargeback without first contacting the payment platform or us may result in suspension of your account and loss of access to premium features and data.

10. Fair Usage Policy

We reserve the right to:

  • Deny refund assistance for repeated refund requests or patterns of abuse
  • Investigate suspicious refund patterns that may indicate fraud
  • Suspend or terminate accounts engaged in refund fraud or subscription abuse
  • Limit future purchases for users with excessive refund requests
  • Report fraudulent activity to payment platforms and appropriate authorities
