How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your MY QR account through the following methods:
Method 1: Delete Within the App (Recommended)
- Open the MY QR app
- Go to Settings or Account section
- Tap on "Delete Account" or "Delete My Data"
- Confirm your decision to permanently delete your account
- Your account will be deleted immediately
Method 2: Email Request
If you're unable to access the app or prefer email:
- Send an email to [email protected]
- Use the subject line: "MY QR Account Deletion Request"
- Include your registered email address in the message
- Confirm that you want to permanently delete your account
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you delete your MY QR account, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Account Information: Your name, email address, and authentication data
- QR Code Data: All QR codes you've created and saved in the app
- UPI Information: Your stored UPI IDs and payment QR code data
- Settings & Preferences: All your app settings and customizations
- Analytics Data: Usage statistics and app interaction data associated with your account
- Crash Reports: Any diagnostic data linked to your account
What Happens to Local Data
To completely remove all data from your device:
- Uninstall the MY QR app from your device after deleting your account
- This will remove any locally cached data and downloaded QR codes
- Clear app data from your device settings before uninstalling (optional)
Data Retention Period
- In-App Deletion: Your account and associated data will be deleted immediately
- Email Request: Your account deletion request will be processed within 30 days of receiving your email
- Some anonymized analytics data may be retained for statistical purposes, but this data cannot be linked back to you
- We may retain certain data if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal compliance)
Important Notes
- This action is permanent and cannot be undone
- After deletion, you will not be able to recover your QR codes or account data
- If you have an active subscription, it will be canceled (see our Refund Policy for details)
- You can create a new account with the same email address after deletion is complete
- Downloaded or printed QR codes will continue to work, but you won't be able to manage them through the app
Before You Delete
Before deleting your account, consider:
- Export Your Data: Download or save any QR codes you want to keep
- Save QR Code Images: Take screenshots or save QR code images that you're currently using
- Update Payment QR Codes: If you're using MY QR for business, ensure you have alternative payment methods in place
- Cancel Subscription: If you have an active subscription, consider canceling it before deleting your account
Alternative to Deletion
If you're concerned about privacy but don't want to delete your account permanently, you can:
- Sign out of the app to stop syncing data
- Clear app data from your device settings
- Delete individual QR codes you no longer need
- Revoke app permissions in your device settings
