How to Delete Your Data from 5K Steps

5K Steps is committed to protecting your privacy and giving you control over your data. This page explains how you can delete your data from the 5K Steps app.
Delete Data Within the App
To delete your data directly within the 5K Steps app:
- Open the 5K Steps app on your device
- Navigate to the "Settings" tab
- Scroll down and tap on "Clear Data"
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Data That Will Be Deleted
When you clear your data using the method above, the following information will be permanently deleted:
- Step count history and statistics
- Personal goals and records
- Custom settings and preferences
- Achievement and progress data
Data Retention
After you delete your data:
- Local data: All data stored on your device will be immediately and permanently deleted.
- Anonymous analytics data: Any anonymized usage statistics that have been collected for app improvement purposes cannot be linked back to you personally and may be retained.
- Health service connections: The app's connections to Apple Health or Google Fit will remain until you revoke them in your device settings.
Additional Data Deletion Methods
Uninstall the App
When you uninstall the 5K Steps app from your device, all locally stored data associated with the app will be removed from your device. However, this action alone does not delete any data that might be synced with Apple Health or Google Fit.
Revoke Health Data Access
To disconnect 5K Steps from your health data:
On iOS devices:
- Go to your device Settings
- Tap "Health"
- Tap "Data Access & Devices"
- Select "5K Steps"
- Tap "Turn Off All" or revoke specific permissions
On Android devices:
- Open the Google Fit app
- Tap your profile picture > Settings
- Tap "Manage connected applications"
- Find "5K Steps" and tap "Disconnect"
